LADY DUCKS BATTLE #6 NAVASOTA; HOSTS CALDWELL |
|
Coach Kisha Jones and her Lady Ducks varsity basketball squad fought hard Tuesday as they battled #6 state-ranked Navasota and eventually dropped an 82-35 decision to the Lady Rattlers. Taylor's scrappy defense kept the game close in the 1st half, but a 30-4 run by Navasota popped the Lady Ducks' dreams of the ultimate upset. Taylor returns home Friday to play Caldwell in for final home game of the season, before traveling to Rockdale Tuesday for their season finale. Game times are 6:30 & 8 pm. |

NAVASOTA COMES BACK ON THE DUCKS; 72-61 |
|
Taylor Basketball Coach Justin Boswell's varsity squad started out on fire in the first half Tuesday at Navasota but the # 13 ranked bought from a 14-point 2nd quarter deficit to grab a 72-61 victory. "The Rattlers didn't know what hit them," said Boswell. Down 14, Navasota came alive, made some key steals and began scoring in bunches. Taylor stayed with the Rattlers until the 4:00 mark, but then Navasota pulled away for the 11-point win. "This was one of the best games we have played all season," said Boswell. "And it was on the road and against a VERY good team!" The Taylor JV and Freshmen team had similar games ...they played hard and are showing improvement, but came up short against the Rattlers.
Taylor travels Caldwell Friday as the JV and Varsity only tackle the Hornets ... who no longer have a freshman team. Games are at 5 and 6:30 pm.
