TAYLOR ISD EARNS STATE'S HIGHEST FISCAL ACCOUNTABILITY RATING Taylor Independent School District officials have announced that the district has received a rating of Superior Achievement for 2007-2008 school year, under Texas Schools FIRST financial accountability rating system. The Superior Achievement distinction is Taylor's eighth consecutive top rating! The Superior Achievement rating is the state's highest mark of achievement and it demonstrates the quality of Taylor ISD's financial management and reporting system. This was just the eighth year of Schools FIRST (Financial Integrity Rating System of Texas), a financial accounting system for Texas school districts developed by the Texas Education Agency in response to Senate Bill 875 of the 76th Texas Legislature in 1999. The primary goal of Schools FIRST is to achieve quality performance in management of school district's financial resources, a goal made more significant due to the complexity of accounting with the Texas school finance system. To achieve the Superior Achievement rating, Taylor ISD had to be able to receive a score between 75-85 points on 24 indicators provided by TEA. The district ammassed 81 points, out of a possible 85. |
