The Taylor Independent School District has adopted policies EHAB (Legal) and EHAC (Legal) which address and ensure that elementary and middle school students participate in physical activity. Taylor ISD adheres to the Federal Child Nutrition guidelines; however, at the present time, the district does not have a separate policy related to vending machines. The district does have policies CO (Legal), COA (Legal), and COB (Legal) addressing food services. Policy FNCD (Legal) relates to student tobacco use. During the 2008-2009 school year, the District Health Advisory Council (SHAC) met two times as a total group; with subgroups meeting several times during the school year. Students in Taylor ISD, grades 3-12, are administered the state-approved Fitnessgram to assess their fitness level. Parents of these Taylor ISD students may find out how to access their student's fitness assessment results by contacting their student's campus office after May 22, 2009.
