Mr. Ramos earned his bachelor’s degree from Rice University, and his master’s degree from Texas State University. He was a professional baseball player before he became an educator. He began his career in education as a substitute teacher during the baseball off-seasons, then quickly realized he enjoyed working with students served through special education and became a resource and inclusion teacher. His leadership career began as an instructional coach, and then he gained valuable experience as an assistant principal in both elementary and secondary settings.
“We are confident that Mario is going to be able to take Main Street Intermediate to the next level,” said Taylor ISD Superintendent, Dr. Devin Padavil. “When we talk about our goals of Excellence in Student Outcomes and Exceptional Workplace Climate, we think of leaders like Mario that can make it happen. He is personable, sharp, and truly cares for students and staff.”
Mr. Ramos will begin his new role as MSI principal on July 1 and is already looking forward to becoming a part of the Taylor team.
“I am committed to being an accessible campus leader to our students, staff and community,” Mr. Ramos said. “I look forward to meeting everyone and learning how I can contribute to the legacy that is Taylor ISD.”
Mr. Ramos has been married to his high school sweetheart, Angie, for 22 years. They have 3 children: Isaac who will be a junior at The University of Texas, Aden who will be a high school senior, and Mila will enter 1st grade.
