Taylor ISD is proud to announce the selection of three experienced principal to lead our schools for the 2022-23 school year.
Main Street Intermediate School
Naomi Pasemann Elementary School
Felicia Gibson will serve as the next Principal of Naomi Pasemann Elementary School. Ms. Gibson comes to us after serving as Principal of Kenedy ISD and has demonstrated an emphasis on building a positive school culture for students and staff while improving academics. Dr. Padavil shared, "I am very excited to see how Felicia will build on the proud tradition of Naomi Pasemann by supporting staff and helping each student grow as learners and people." In her welcome letter, Ms. Gibson stated, "I welcome the opportunity to work side by side with the students, staff, and families of Naomi Pasemann Elementary. As your future leader of Pasemann, I want to know my students, staff, and parents; support their growth, applaud their acheivements, and take interest in them as individuals."
Taylor Middle School
Steven Vigil will serve as the next Principal of Taylor Middle School. Mr. Vigil comes to us after serving an a high school science teacher, a high school instructional coach, and high school assistant principal in Taylor ISD. In his work, he has shown a strong record of building relationships and supporting teachers in the work of growing our learners. Mr. Vigil shared, "my goals are to provide TMS a strong school culture, a positive environment with clear expectations where staff and students feel safe and supported every day, and regular communication with all stakeholders..." Superintendent Devin Padavil emphasized, "Steven is the kind of leader that emphasizes our district belief statement about campus leaders. I am excited about how he will help the students and staff of TMS have a great experience because of his leadership."
Taylor High School
Matthew Wamble was selected to serve as the next Principal of Taylor High School. Mr. Wamble comes to us with the experience of serving as high school athletic director, high school assistant principal, and last served as Principal of Burton High School. He has demonstrated an ability to focus on academic growth while providing a positive and well-managed school culture. He also shared that school should be a place where students create lasting memories of positive relationships and enjoyable experiences. Dr. Padavil stated, "the staff and students at Taylor High School told us they hoped we would find a leader that is visible in classrooms, has clear expectations, relates to students, and holds everyone to the same level of accountability. Through a rigorous interview process, it was very clear that Mr. Wamble is that leader."
