Through a partnership with Peterbilt Motors Company, an American truck manufacturer, and Rush Truck Centers, Taylor ISD’s diesel program is providing excellent opportunities for students to prepare for future careers that are known for excellent pay.

According to instructor, Mark Harwell, once students complete Diesel I and Diesel II, they are able to join the workforce at an entry level of about $22/hour, working their way up to $30-35/hour and beyond.

During a recent visit to the Taylor Program, Peterbilt representative, Curtis Crisp, said Taylor ISD has led the way for this type of career path as the first high school to partner with Peterbilt. Now there are 50 programs like this in high schools and technical schools across the country.
