Celebrating Excellence: Lindsay Cram Receives Superintendent's Coin of Excellence

Please join us in congratulating Lindsay Cram, 3rd grade teacher apprentice at MSE, on receiving the Superintendent's Coin of Excellence for the month of October.
Mrs. Cram began her journey in education 3 years ago as an instructional aide at NPE in the Life Skills classroom, but last year she made the leap into our teacher apprenticeship program. That means that she was given a 2nd grade classroom of her own while finishing her teaching degree in the Teachworthy program. While earning her degree, raising four kids, and being a first year teacher, Mrs. Cram excelled in so many ways that makes her an invaluable part of MSE and Taylor ISD.
Her work ethic and dedication to all students at MSE is only part of what has made her so successful. The thing you need to know about Mrs. Cram is that she is a natural in the classroom and creates an environment where students are not only challenged academically, but socially and emotionally as well. With our implementation of Leader in Me, she has seamlessly weaved the 7 Habits into her academic content. Her students feel inspired, equipped, and empowered on a daily basis.
This year, Mrs. Cram moved to 3rd grade (a STAAR-tested grade level), and when I asked one of her students, Austin Collier, what makes her such a special teacher, he responded, "She is really nice and gives us second chances. When we ask for help she is never rude, and she is just a really loving teacher."
And her effect is not only seen just in our students, but with our staff as well. When I asked her Team Lead, Ms. Salters, what it's like to have Mrs. Cram on her team, she responded with "It was at the end of last school year that I learned Mrs. Cram would be on my team. Mrs. Cram is someone who is dedicated to excellence in all that she does from her professional to personal life. I am amazed by how she continues to challenge herself to grow as an educator and balance her family life. Whenever someone needs help she is always willing to support or find resources for them. She has a heart of gold. I know that Mrs. Cram will continue to impact so many lives. She has definitely made an impact on mine."
And finally, bringing it back to just the basics, Lindsey Cram is just a good human. They say that "everyone is replaceable", but I would have a hard time finding another Lindsey Cram to fill her shoes at MSE. We are grateful and honored for her to be considered for the Superintendent's Coin of Excellence Award.
