• State of Texas Immunization Requirements

As we begin the 23-24 school year, Taylor ISD would like to remind parents that all students, both new and returning, MUST be up to date on all required vaccinations PRIOR to the first day of school. Parents are responsible for providing the school with their child's immunization record as part of the registration process. The nurse at each campus will review immunization records for compliance with the Texas Department of State Health Services Minimum Vaccination Requirements. If a student is found to need one or more vaccinations, the student must obtain the needed vaccination(s) and be cleared by their school nurse prior to starting school.
The Taylor Health Department is a community resource that is available for student vaccinations required for school. The office is located at 115 W 6th St, Taylor, Tx 76574. They are currently open Monday-Thursday from 7am-5pm and Friday from 8am-1pm and can be contacted at 512-238-2121. Please call for availability and student eligibility.

  • Provisional Enrollment

Per the Texas Department of State Health Services, "A student may be enrolled provisionally if the student has an immunization record that indicates the student has received at least one dose of each specified age-appropriate vaccine required by this rule. Students must not be overdue for the next dose in a series to be considered provisional. To remain enrolled, the student must complete the required subsequent doses in each vaccine series on schedule and as rapidly as is medically feasible and provide acceptable evidence of vaccination to the school. A school nurse or school administrator shall review the immunization status of a provisionally enrolled student every 30 days to ensure continued compliance in completing the required doses of vaccination. If, at the end of the 30-day period, a student has not received a subsequent dose of vaccine, the student is not in compliance and the school shall exclude the student from school attendance until the required dose is administered. Additional guidelines for provisional enrollment of students transferring from one Texas public or private school to another, students who are dependents of active duty military, students in foster care, and students who are homeless can be found in the TAC, Title 25 Health Services, Sections 97.66 and 97.69"

  • Immunization Exemptions

    • For students who need a medical exemption from required immunizations, a written statement from their physician must be submitted at the time of registration.
    • For immunization exemptions for reasons of conscience, an original, notarized Texas Department of Health affidavit must be submitted to the school nurse at the time of registration and must be dated within 90 days.
