Taylor ISD Athletic Training -- "Once a Duck, Always a Duck"
As the Taylor Independent School District Athletic Trainers, we are actively working to keep our student-athletes safe, healthy, and playing the sports that they love. Athletic Trainers (ATs) are highly educated in sports medicine sciences, and specialize in athletic injury recognition, evaluation, diagnostics, prevention, treatment, and rehabilitation (we don't just tape ankles!). ATs collaborate and work closely with coaches, administration, physicians, nurses, chiropractors, physical therapists, and dietitians. We're committed to ensuring our student-athletes are comfortable and confident coming to us with injuries, and make sure that they receive the best care possible. Want to learn more about your Taylor Athletic Trainers? Click on the "staff" tab on the right side of the page for detailed bios.

Team Physicians
We are very fortunate to have care for our student-athletes with the Orthopedic Clinics in Pflugerville at the Baylor Scott & White facilities. We are able to refer our injured student-athletes to two different Orthopedic Sports Medicine Doctors.Dr. Watkins is board-certified in both family practice and sports medicine. Because of this, he is able to treat common medical conditions like diabetes, hypertension and arthritis, and common sports injuries, such as concussions, sprains and fractures. We are fortunate to have Dr. Watkins be apart of our team, and we are thankful for him and his colleagues at his clinic for efficient, thorough, and specialized care.We are also very lucky to have Dr. Adam O'Brien on our team. Dr. O'Brien is an orthopedic surgeon who is fellowship trained in Sports Medicine. He is from west Texas and trained at some of the top institutions across the country. During his specialty training which focused on arthroscopic (minimally invasive) surgery, he worked with all levels of athletes including the Houston Texans, Rockets, Astros, Dynamo, and the University of Houston Athletics. One last member of the Baylor Scott & White team we have is Ms. Kelli McCalla, LAT, ATC. She is a valuable part of our team because she coordinates care with team physicians, assists with scheduling appointments, varsity football coverage with team physicians, and assists with coordinating physicians for physicals. We are very thankful to have her apart of our team.Information regarding the clinics can be found below:Dr. Kendrick WatkinsBaylor Scott & White Clinic - Pflugerville Central

Meet Our Contracted Chiropractors!
We are very fortunate here at Taylor to have two local chiropractors facilitating care for our student-athletes. Dr. Paul Burow and Dr. Nathan Burow set-up in our high school gym athletic training room on Tuesdays from 11:30am-1:00 pm, as well as provide sideline care during our home varsity football games. Both chiropractors specialize in sports-related injuries and are a valued part of our Taylor sports medicine team.
Dr. Paul Burow graduated from Taylor High in 1982 and has been serving Taylor and surrounding communities since his graduation from Texas Chiropractic College in 1990. He has taken hundreds of continuing education hours in sports injury seminars through his profession and has 30 years of sideline experience to contribute. Dr. Nathan Burow also graduated from THS in 2009 and Texas Chiropractic College in 2018. He joined his father in practice at 612 North Main Street in Taylor.
