2025-2026 – In accordance with Texas Senate Bill 12, Taylor ISD is providing this annual notice of the campus-based health services available to students. To comply with state law, please complete the 2025–26 Health Services Annual Parent/Guardian Consent Form to indicate your decision. This ensures we provide only the services you authorize.
SB 12 AnnouncementVHSS Response to 89th (R) Legislative Session, SB 12 Health Screening ClarificationRequired vision, hearing, and spinal screenings (Health and Safety Code Chapters 36 and 37) are not impacted by SB 12 which passed into law during the regular session of the 89th Texas Legislature. Parents and legal guardians not wanting their child to receive school-provided screenings must submit the required medical documentation or notarized affidavit referenced in the Texas Administrative Code (TAC) Rules §37.23 and §37.25 for vision and hearing screening and in TAC Rules §37.143 and §37.144 for spinal screening.There will be no update to the Annual Vision, Hearing, and Spinal Screening Report because of SB 12. Students with an affidavit of exemption to be screened or examined by a licensed professional in place of the school screening are included in the total number screened if the school receives screening or exam documentation. Students with a religious exemption are not included in the total number screened.We remain committed to partnering with you to support your child’s health, safety, and learning.
