In an ambitious effort to increase the recruitment pool of outstanding educators, Taylor ISD is announcing a $10,000 sign-on bonus for certified middle school teachers with three or more years of experience who join the district for the 2025–26 school year.

The district is also offering a $5,000 sign-on bonus to certified middle school teachers with zero to two years of experience. All other new teachers hired can earn a sign-on bonus up to $1,500 based on their years of experience.

This strategic initiative highlights Taylor ISD's commitment to expanding its pool of middle school teachers. By attracting experienced and dedicated professionals, the district aims to maintain a competitive edge to ensure students are equipped to reach their unique potential.

All Teachers Can Earn Even More

The district also launched a $1,000 teacher referral bonus to thank staff who help recruit top talent. When they refer a certified teacher who is hired, staff receive a $1,000 payout, which is the district’s way of rewarding those bringing great educators into the Taylor family.

Taylor ISD is a Texas Education Agency (TEA) Teacher Incentive Allotment district, meaning that top-performing teachers can earn up to an additional $25,115 per year for five years on top of their regular salary, creating a pathway for our teachers to earn a six-figure salary. The district is currently seeking to expand its designation criteria so more teachers can qualify for the additional funding.

The district is currently one of the highest-paying T.I.A. district in the region, according to the program website. Teachers who are designated as Master educators can make an additional $25,115, while Exemplary educators earn $13,869, and Recognized educators earn $6,934.

All educators have the potential to earn even more if they qualify for stipends, such as:

• Secondary mathematics and science teacher
• Bilingual teacher
• Teachers who teach a language other than English
• Coach a sport
• Fine Arts teacher
• Serve as a department head
• Career Technical Education teacher
• Graduate and Coming Home stipend for Taylor HS alumni

For example, a middle school teacher coming to the district with three or more years of experience can earn a $10,000 stipend, and if they are also a certified Spanish teacher assigned to a Spanish class, they could earn an additional $3,000. The same educator could coach football and earn an additional $5,500, amounting to a total of $18,500 on top of their base pay.

Eligible teachers will see their sign‑on bonus reflected in their very first paycheck with Taylor ISD. This sign-on bonus offer is open through Aug. 31, 2025 and is available to new-to-the district educators, not current employees.
