Taylor ISD names Tara Granberry as district's first Director of Fine Arts
Taylor ISD has named Tara Granberry as the district’s first-ever Director of Fine Arts, bringing more than 15 years of experience in fine arts education and leadership to the role.
Granberry joins Taylor ISD after serving in multiple leadership and instructional roles in Jarrell ISD, including Fine Arts Coordinator, Performing Arts Center Facility Manager, and theatre director at both the high school and middle school levels. Throughout her career, she has focused on expanding student opportunities and building strong fine arts programs that support creativity, collaboration, and student growth.
As part of her work in Jarrell ISD, Granberry helped develop a districtwide theatre program and supported performances and events across multiple fine arts disciplines, including band, choir, dance, theatre, and visual arts. She also oversaw productions and community events at the district’s Performing Arts Center.
Over the course of her career, Granberry has directed more than 150 productions, including UIL One-Act Play performances, musicals, and summer theatre camps. Her students have earned multiple regional advancements and state-level recognition in UIL Theatrical Design. In 2022, she was named Jarrell ISD Secondary Teacher of the Year.
“Fine arts programs play an important role in creating well-rounded educational experiences and strong campus cultures,” said Taylor ISD Superintendent Jennifer Garcia-Edwardsen, Ph.D. “Ms. Granberry’s passion for student opportunities and her experience growing successful programs make her an outstanding addition to the district.”
Granberry said she believes deeply in the impact arts education has on students and communities.
"I've seen first hand the impact the arts in our public schools can have on the community,” Granberry said. “It's a privilege to help guide Taylor ISD as we grow and expand our arts programs."
In her new role, Granberry will oversee and support fine arts programming across the district, working with students, staff, and community partners to continue expanding opportunities in the arts for Taylor ISD students.
