Taylor ISD families,
Welcome back! I hope you all had a wonderful, restful break, spending time with your loved ones. For my own family, it was a chance to slow down, enjoy the season, and appreciate the moments that make this time of year so meaningful.
As we begin the spring semester, there’s a renewed sense of energy and excitement across Taylor ISD. Our teachers and staff returned early last week for professional learning, spending time sharpening their skills and preparing to best support our students. As I visited campuses, it was wonderful to see the enthusiasm and care that our educators bring to their work every day.
Now that students are back, we’re looking ahead to a full and exciting semester full of learning, competitions, performances, and traditional milestones, especially for our graduating seniors at Taylor High School and Legacy Early College High School.
This spring, we’ll continue building on the foundation we began in the fall through our 1+ work, focused on helping every student grow beyond expectations and be prepared for the next grade, but also for life after graduation.
To reach these goals, it’s important that every student attends school every day. Students who attend regularly do better academically, stay on track with learning, build strong relationships, and feel more connected to their school. Even missing a couple of days each month can add up and make it harder for students to keep pace. Good attendance habits also set students up for long-term success in high school, college, and future careers. If your child needs to miss school, please stay in touch with your campus and help them make up for any missed work.
You’re an essential part of the success equation. The encouragement, support, and care you provide at home make a powerful difference in helping our students thrive.
There is so much to look forward to this semester, and we’re grateful you’re taking this journey with us.
Let’s have a great semester!
