Dear Taylor ISD families,
We’re officially underway!
The first weeks of the 2026-2027 school year have brought our hallways and classrooms back to life. Students are settling into new routines, reconnecting with friends, getting to know their teachers, and most importantly, learning is taking place across Taylor ISD.
I’ve had the opportunity to visit our campuses and see that excitement firsthand. There’s something special about seeing our youngest Ducks take their first steps into school, watching students reconnect with friends and teachers, and seeing our older students embrace the opportunities that come with a new year.
This year also begins with plenty to be proud of. We are building on significant academic progress across our district, with double-digit growth over the past three years and one of the largest accountability gains among school districts in Williamson County, resulting in a B rating from the Texas Education Agency.
And we know our work continues. Our teachers and staff are already focused on what comes next and how we can help every student continue growing throughout the year.
Thank you to our families for helping make these first weeks successful, and thank you for continuing to trust us with your children. Your partnership matters, and we are grateful to have you alongside us.
We’ve had a great start, and I’m excited about everything still ahead.
Jennifer Garcia-Edwardsen, Ph.D.
